EP/Border Mid AM Humewood Links 2022
36 hole tournament played over 2 days 18 hole Saturday 18 Sunday
I had an afternoon tee time at 12:12. The weather was great, slightly 20km east blowing off the sea. We started on the 10th not the easiest hole to start a demanding par 4, managed to par the 10th, made bogey on 11th and 12, tee shot on 11 ended up in the fairway pot bunker and 3 putt bogey on 12 not the best start. Birdie on 13, 16 ,17 got me back to -1 for the tournament after 9 holes, back 9 the tougher of the 2 nines I made a solid start with pars on holes 1 -5 made birdie on 6, 7 and 9 to shoot 68. 1st round position 2nd 1 shot off the leader
Final round was a 8am tee time 1 shot off the leader I knew I had to have a good round to stand a chance of winning the EP/ Border Mid AM Championship, opened my final round up with a bogey to put myself 2 shots off the lead, birdie on the 4th got me back to level with the leader, I made a birdie on 8th and par on 9 to turn 5 under for the tournament and a 2 shot lead, pared the 10th and 11th, the key hole in the tournament was the 12th i sank a long putt for birdie to extend my lead to 4 with 6 holes to go, pared 13, 14 ,15 to maintain my 4 shot lead , made birdie on 16 and eagle on 17 to give myself a 7 shot lead playing the last. Par on 18 set me up for a final round 67
68/67 -9 ( 7 shot victory)
