It was an early start to the day up at 4am on the road at 5am on our way to Royal Port Alfred. Windy conditions met us on the first tee box, I made a great start to my first round was 4 under after 7 holes in some windy conditions, made a soft drop on 9th to turn 3 under after 9 holes, playing the 10th known as whales back, the hole was playing down wind I hit a prefect tee shot ending a foot short of the green and was able to make the putt for an eagle to get myself back to 5 under made a birdie on the last hole to finish with a 66.
After a quick 20min lunch break we were back out for round 2, made a fast to round 2 was 4 under after 10. Rain started setting in on the back 9 made a poor double bogey on the par 5 and a drop on the par 3, breaking all my momentum for round 2. I managed to par my way into the clubhouse to sign for a 71.
Rounds of 66/71 second spot finish, I feel I left some shots out on the course in my second round, especially after I had a solid start, taking all the weather condition into account on the day 7 under total was an acceptable performance.
